News From The Board

The most significant development to report this month is the latest stage in the formation of the Club Advisory Board (CAB).  The decision to launch this facility reflects a concerted effort to involve positive fan inclusion in the workings of the Club by taking into account the views, opinions and suggestions of the many and various profiles of individuals within our fan base. Applications were invited for the various categories comprising the CAB, the closing date for which was the 28th February, and interviews are planned for w/c 3rd March. The introduction of the CAB provides the opportunity for fans to be actively involved in assisting to proactively influence future decisions made by the Club affecting everyone.
In the meantime, as always, the Trust being represented on the Club Board is the opportunity to voice your comments, questions and suggestions for me to bring to the Club”’s attention. Email me on murray@daletrust.co.uk and I shall do my best to take them up and report back to you.

Daves View On The Month
Dave Earnshaw. Director with Responsibilities for Youth Inclusion and
Daletrust Acting Liason Officer with BOGS

February has been another month whereby the trust have been in contact with the club around possible future fundraising opportunities.
I hope as many of you take up the opportunity to complete the short survey we have set up on line  see link below.
https://www.daletrust.co.uk/2025/02/future-fund-raising-initiatives-we-need-your-help-please-see-the-survey-below/

This will give us the opportunity to gain understanding and help set our objectives moving forward. Thanks to Matt Devine from the BOGS team for supporting and working alongside these meeting he’s been a great help.
I held a travel meeting with some of the trust board at my home as we really are trying to find ways so we can continue to offer away coach travel so we have been looking at ways we can achieve that and exploring other options to see if that helps. But the one thing we most definitely need is your support by using the coaches we offer for away games. If you are a user and you think you can provide details of how to make the experience a positive one or have used in the past we would be interested to hear why you have stopped using the coach we may not be able to resolve all the issues raised but it may help us moving forward to maintain the coach offer into our future fixtures.
One suggestion I have received is setting off slightly earlier so the people who fancy a pint can get one in a pub near to the ground.
So get you suggestions / comments into the trust.

Dave

Youth Matters…
Ruby Loynd. Inclusion Officer

In January our legend, Hendo, turned 40!

To help celebrate Hendo’s birthday I had organised a card to be made by the fans of Dale. This was then to be presented by the winner of the front page design. See HERE. The presentation was held on the 22nd February 2025.

I was pleased to have the support from both the Club and the Trust in preparation of this presentation.

The winner of the front page design was the wonderful Henry (age 5), see picture below.

I would like to say a special thank you to Dom (Henry’s Dad) – Non-Member, for allowing Henry to take part in this competition and presentation.

Henry was amazing on the day and was asking lots of great questions regarding the club, Hendo, my role and even the Hornets!

If you or your child have any questions or suggestions regarding the server then please don’t hesitate to contact me on my email, ruby@daletrust.co.uk.

Focus Group Season Cards. The Fans Focus Group to discuss Season Cards for next season met in the 1907 Lounge on Thursday 27th February, led by Andy Duff, George Delves, and Ryan Bradley (both via Teams). Attending in person on behalf of the fan base were Dave Earnshaw, Murray Knight, Emma Loynd, Ruby Loynd and Vince Ashall  (Trust Board Directors) and Russell Loynd. Discussions are currently underway including, amongst other topics, lack of flexibility within the current system including restrictions faced when ordering online eg. making multi-purchases of different types of tickets at the same time amongst other difficulties, rendering the  system to failing to provide an acceptable customer-friendly facility.. Discussions have developed to the stage whereby an announcement will be made soon including full details of the proposed structure for next season.
From Emma, Travel Coordinator.
Trust Director responsible for all travel coordination

Welcome to March!

How quickly this season is passing us by.
It was lovely to see some of you at the COA before the coach departed for Halifax.
I hope to meet more fantastic fans before the season ends.

Our next Away Coach is Maidenhead on Saturday 22nd March.
The coach departs at 10am and is £35 per seat.

Let’s keep this run of form continuing, as I’m sure all your support is spurring them on.

Your continued support is much appreciated.
Let’s fill the last few coaches of the season!

Thank you again  and I hope to meet more of you soon,
Emma

Former Players Association

From the desk of Keith Hicks

A trip down memory lane 🎤⚽️ That’s how ex Dale defender Simon Ramsden described it when he returned to Spotland as a guest of the Trust and Former Players Association.
Organised by Keith Hicks, Simon returned to talk to guests.  and fans alike during the pre match hospitality.

Posting on the former Players Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/RochdaleFPA/  Simon said,

“Amazing day yesterday going back to my old club Rochdale AFC to speak in hospitality and to watch the game with the kids and my dad.
Great result on the pitch but an even better result was Nellie doing the half time draw on the pitch and out of a crowd of over three thousand managed to pick out our lucky winning numbers which we found out after the match 🤣🤣

Her face was a picture and what a way to finish such a good day ❤️
Loved my time at the club and it was great to reminisce on the 🎤 and look forward to coming back along again in the future”

Exiles

Just a reminder…

The Exiles have their own dedicated WhatsApp group, it’s moderated by Ian and is for all fans that come under the exile scheme , basically those not locally resident, UK-based and abroad. We hope all our exile fan members will join.

With such a rich tapestry of areas around the globe where members can be found, it’s an ideal way of bringing “Your Slant” on all things Dale and sharing with others who can not be at the COA

Those wishing to join the WhatsApp group, just click on the link   https://chat.whatsapp.com/HHhzjSjR041CD4TJeFdqnW

Questions – General

The Trusts policy is and has been for many years to respond and acknowledge within few days to emailed questions, queries and concerns and if an immediate answer is not available then follow-up work will be carried out and answers will be provided.
Your questions etc are an important part of our daily work, our case book is proof of that.
We have access to club at all levels, we work closely with (besides our members and the fan base) the FSA (Football Supporters Association) fellow Trusts at clubs both in and out of the national league and via our website and various social media channels aim to keep members and fans in general alive to issues current.
We receive in general questions, queries and concerns in two ways. Face to face at the Daletrust desk which is situated in the Dale Bar before any home game (unless stated prior) and secondly via our email channels. Depending on what is asked depends on who takes responsibility, primarily issues relating to club concerns are handled by our Trust Director who through our internal channels keeps all board members appraised. This though is not exclusive.  Trust directors are engaged with several Trust initiatives/projects which involve working with either the club management executive, Club Board or the Senior management team so the flow of information can and does include live questions which we have taken from the membership.
Contacting the Trust, or a particular person at the Trust is easy and if your question regards a welfare issue and private then just ask for a member of the team to get back to you in person. If you want to contact a Trust director specifically, then just mark your email for the attention of said person.
Of course, the Trust desk prior to home games is a great way to make contact, on average we deal with about 8 to 10 specifics each game.
