MASCOT/BIRTHDAY TREAT
Today’s mascot is Harley Jones, who celebrated his sixth birthday on 20th September and attends St. Joseph’s Primary School, Heywood.
Harley is hopefully enjoying his time with our Saturday Club and leading the players onto the pitch prior to kick off.
He is a massive Rochdale fan supporting home and away with favourite player being Jamie Allen.
Harley enjoys playing football at the tiny tots sessions at the Soccer Factory on Monday and Saturday.
HALF TIME CHALLENGE MATCH
For the game against Barnsley, we witnessed yet another enthralling half time match which saw a five goal thriller between Pennine FC and Milnrow Tigers under 8’s
Today we have a match between St Bartholomew Primary School and Tonacliffe Primary School from Whitworth, who both take part on our popular Schools Education/Coaching Programme.
Hope they all enjoy their day out at Spotland.
COMMUNITY TRUST MULTI SPORT COURSES
We had a fantastic turn out over the Summer Holidays with 372 boys and girls taking advantage of the Trust supervised activities spread over the six week period.
Attenders were given expert tuition in a multitude of sports every day with Certificates presented at the end of the week plus Award Winners for most improved attender, personality of the week, skills winner and star performer.
For the October Half Term holidays, commencing Monday 26th October, we have organised courses at the following venues:
Soccer Factory – Royle Barn Road, Castleton
Siddal Moor Sports College – Newhouse Road, Heywood
Wardle Academy – Birch Road, Wardle
Times & prices (half day: 9.00am – 12.30pm/full day: 9.00am – 3.00pm)
5 Day Full Course: £50.00 Half Days: £40.00

FEMALE FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT
As I mentioned in Tuesday’s notes, the Female Football Development has grown from strength to strength with over 360 girls, aged 14+ taking part in our coaching sessions leading to our Ladies section, now running five teams in the North Manchester Girls League.
The nationwide programme has now been extended for a further year mainly due to the efforts of Nicol Meredith, FFD Co-ordinator.
A special mention goes to our under 9’s team that has now played five games drawing four and losing one, a brilliant achievement saying that we only put a squad together in the past few months.
I will keep you all updated on results from all the teams in the coming months.
