The Trust’s March draw among its junior members for a Dale shirt with their favourite players name on has been won by a very happy Woody Mayberry. a whisper in our ear told us who his favourite player was and what name he wanted on the shirt, so no need to guess as the photo below gives the game away as to who it is.
We are grateful to Abraham for taking time to come up to the 1907 lounge after the Barrow game and present the shirt to Woody and pose for the photo, a treasured moment, and one which made his dad, Craig Mayberry dead jealous.
When the draw is made, we contact the young person’s parent or guardian and inform them who has won and what name would the winner like on the shirt. Many times its quiet obvious what mum or dad wants, and it’s not unusual for us to have to emphasise it’s what the young winner wants not what they think, it’s always amusing to when the young person chooses a different name, but in Woody’s case Dad was very clear what Woody wanted as it was what he, dad, wanted and we are not sure who was the most excited that a shirt was coming their way.
Woody’s big smiles after the presentation being testimony to the day he had enjoyed and that’s exactly as it should be, well done Woody.
As a reminder, the Trust has a monthly draw (During the playing seasons months) for its junior members, the winner getting a football shirt with their favourite players name on as can be seen above.
To ensure that all junior members are eligible we do ask that a contact name and telephone number along with their DOB is added to the trust renewal form each year. I bet Woody is happy that dad Craig made sure we had his details, although it was debatable who was the most excited.
Once again, congratulations Woody, we look forward to seeing you with your mum and dad at the COA very soon.
