Donate your Dale scarf to Ukraine appeal

Rochdale Football Club continues to stand with the rest of the football family in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and all those who are affected by the ongoing conflict.

Over the last week we have been in touch with the Rochdale Ukrainian Club to see how best we can help as a football club.

Discussions had taken place around a donation point being set up at the Crown Oil Arena for supporters to drop off essential items for a local collection appeal, however, at this moment in time, the local appeal is at full capacity.

But we are pleased to be able to back one idea that has been put forward to us by a Dale fan, which has been approved by the Ukrainian Club.

Upon clearing out his belongings to send to the local appeal, the supporter discovered that he had multiple Rochdale scarves from seasons gone by.

He, along with the football club and the Rochdale Ukrainian Club are now asking for fellow Dale fans to donate their scarves, which will be sent to Ukrainian refugees in need across Europe. With temperatures still falling below freezing in the evening and during the night in many Eastern European countries, the need for warm clothing is essential.

Fans can bring their scarf/ scarves to our remaining home fixtures this month and either drop them off at the Rochdale AFC Community Trust’s big blue bus (located on the Crown Oil Arena car park), or by handing them to Desmond the Dragon, who you’ll see walking around the stands inside the Crown Oil Arena to collect them.

Collections will start at Tuesday night’s game vs Salford City. Thank you!
