CAB. Trust Representation Going Forward

With the Club now receiving applications for the relevant spaces on the new CAB, the Trust has been allocated two representatives as an entity.

Taking the comment on the club site which says “We are looking for people who can represent the views of specific groups of people – have a positive attitude and the ability to understand and respect the views of others is essential”, the Trust believes that the elected officers of the Trust board are best placed to recognise and understand the diverse work the Trust does and be able to represent all our members.

The Dale Trust through its elected representatives (The Board) already meets the criteria mentioned in the CAB information.  It does this from its eclectic membership, many of whom live away from Rochdale but attend matches when they can (Exiles).  The junior membership under the supervision of the Youth Directors and of course all other adult members are represented on an everyday basis where the need arises

The Trust does this through regular face-to-face contact, immediate online surveys and consultations using its website and other social media, and a comprehensive set of email addresses.  The Trust meets monthly, with sub-committee meetings in between so a bi-monthly CAB is ideal for our work to feed into. The Trust believes this increases democracy and enhances the stated aims of the CAB.

The Trust board therefore believes those best placed to represent the Trust are its elected officers and it will therefore appoint from within its Board members.

The Trust welcomes any application from the membership who have the time and want to join the Trust Board and participate fully in the Dale Trust activities as this will allow those who are elected to assist in representing the Trust going forward including its CAB responsibility.  Applications to be a Trust CAB representative should be submitted by 28th February to murray@daletrust.co.uk containing the same details as required if applying to be an individual CAB representative i.e. your full name, email address and phone number and outline (in no more than a few paragraphs) why you want to be a Trust representative on the Club Advisory Board

As indicated on the CAB website, Trust members can apply for any of the CAB Representative positions.  The Trust would encourage members to apply for those positions if they believe they can add value.
