Put simply Easyfundraising works like this – you pay for stuff online, and the retailer gives us money. As we often say, it’s free money for us.

Since we started our partnership with Easyfundraising, we have raised close to £6,000. All that through 334 supporters who have signed up to Easyfundraising and gone about their normal online shopping where the retailers will make a donation to us following that transaction. It is important to note that you do not pay a single penny more than you would have done had you not gone through Easyfundraising.
We took the decision earlier this year that all new funds raised through Easyfundraising will go towards the Legal Defence fund. That has seen £882.35 donated so far, and this will continue until that matter comes to an end.
To get involved, you need to register with Easyfundraising, and then use their website as a starting point for your online shopping. To make matters easier, there’s a widget you can download for your browser which will remind you if the website you are using is linked in with Easyfundraising.
What’s worth pointing out is that Easyfundraising is linked with a whole host of household names – all the sort of companies that people shop with anyway. Whether its doing your weekly shopping, booking a holiday, buying presents, sorting out car/house insurance etc. Anything that involves any sort of online financial transaction is covered.
As a Trust, we have only scraped with what can be achieved with Easyfundraising. A quarter of the funds raised have come just one supporter, and half the funds raised have come from just five supporters. With 334 supporters registered with Easyfundraising and 1300 Trust members in total last season, you can imagine what could be achieved if more people actively used it. And as we often say – if clubs like Newport County can raise over £23,000, why can’t we?
