Curry Night auction items

We have four very special items that we will be auctioning at the Curry Night on Thursday but we are inviting sealed bids from supporters who are unable to attend.

All items have been donated by Trust members for which we are very grateful. If you wish to bid for any item, please email us at info@daletrust.co.uk with your bid and contact details.

Our four items up for auction are:

Our first item is a little bit special. Craig Dawson has already cemented his place into Dale history as the local boy done good who inspired Dale to our first promotion in a generation back in 2009-10. Not only that, he has enjoyed more than ten years in the Premier League and has played a pivotal role for West Ham as they have challenged at the top end of the Premier League and the Europa League. This is his shirt from that promotion season, signed and framed.

Our second auction item is a signed shirt from a certain Mr Gary Jones. This is a very unique shirt from when Dale travelled down to Birmingham City in the League Cup. Unlike other fixtures that season, our purple away shirt was deemed to be a kit clash with Birmingham’s blue home kit so we had a white kit for the game. We believe this was the only time this kit was ever used. And if that’s not enough, it is signed by Jonah as well.

Speaking of Gary Jones… here we have that recalls one of the greatest moments in his Dale career. We believe there was only ever five of these produced, one of which belongs to Mr Jones himself. This artwork was made to commemorate what is arguably our greatest result in the League as we won 2-0 away at Southampton c/o of a Gary Jones cracker. The story was at the time that Southampton had had a falling out with the local press and had banned all photographers from the ground. When we travelled to St Mary’s, it was an international weekend and had been deemed as the biggest game to be played in England that day. The Guardian reported on the game and opted to get their resident artist to work. There’s no doubting that this is a special piece of Dale history.

A signed Joe Cole shirt with letter / photo of authentication. (We won’t receive this until Thursday so no image unfortunately)

All funds from the auction will go towards the Legal Defence fund.
