In light of the suspension of the season, the Trust have been involved in discussions about the impact this has on our membership.
Traditionally, we open the Trust membership following the end of a season and with the membership lasting until May of the following year. We feel that it doesn’t seem appropriate to ask people to renew from next month when we still have nine matches remaining this season. In order to deal with that uncertainty, we will be extending this year’s membership until the close of the 2019-20 season whenever that might be.
Which brings us on to next year’s membership…
At time of writing, like every other club in the country, we haven’t a clue as to when 2020-21 will commence. Indeed, some suggestions this week have suggested that it might not be until next year before next season begins.
Either way, it is highly likely that next season may well be played in a more condensed time period, and because of that, coupled with the financial impact of the pandemic locally, we have taken the decision to reduce next season’s membership fee to £5. This is a one off reduction with prices reverting to £10 for the 2021-22 season.
This has a knock on effect to the 63 members who have signed up to the Trust on the recurring payment scheme. These payments are set up to be automatically taken on the anniversary of you joining the Trust using this method.
However, these payments are set to £10 and do not take the new membership fee into consideration. In this situation, you can either cancel these payments or we can refund £5 to each person signing up this way. The refunds are a relatively easy task for us to do and will be processed on a weekly basis throughout May, June and July. It’s up to you, and we will be writing to you at the end of this month to remind you of this.
One knock on effect of the reduction in membership fee for next season is that we won’t be able to offer the recurring payment option to anyone who hasn’t previously signed up to it.
