The Trust were matchball sponsors for Saturday’s game with Blackpool that finished 0-0.
Peter Ward, former Rochdale midfielder from 1989-91, was the Trust’s guest for the Blackpool match ball sponsorship yesterday. Peter, who spoke fondly of his time at the Dale enjoyed a three course meal with four lucky trust members and their guests.
Obviously, ‘that’ miss at Crystal Palace was mentioned and Peter can remember it clearly to this day; from the pass from Willie Burns to the Selhurst Park clock counting down the seconds. He’s sure that if he miskicked it instead it would have been a goal! We also discussed his winner at Turf Moor when down to 9 men and the events leaving to his departure in 1991.
