The Trust held their second Matchball Sponsorship event on Saturday for the game against Accrington Stanley, and the Trust members chosen to be guests for the day were Andrew Chadwick with guest Reg, his father-in-law, also a Trust member, John Thompson, accompanied by guest Keith, Nikki Schofield, who’s guest, her mum, was unfortunately, unable to attend. To mark the connection between our two Clubs, we were also delighted that player Legend, Peter Cavanagh accompanied by his son, Mason, were able to complete the group. All enjoyed a terrific 3-course lunch, tickets and programmes for the game, and attendance at the post match presentations.
Peter proved to a really entertaining guest and contributed further to the day by taking part in a question and answer session, chaired by David Bottomley, after which he and Mason were then invited to view the game from the Directors Box. Unfortunately, some of the guests, including Peter and Mason, were unable to attend the post match presentations. The plaque to mark the Sponsorship by the Trust was then presented to the group, and given to Andrew Chadwick’s son, Noah, who had been one of the mascots for today’s game. Everyone attending agreed that it had been a thoroughly enjoyable experience, further enhanced with the three precious points gained.
