Hi everybody for today’s clash against our friends from Portsmouth-hope you away fans have had a good trip to Rochdale and enjoy out hospitality but leave the Crown Oil Arena empty handed.
MASCOTS-JACOB & LUCAS MAHER
Today we have the Maher brothers leading out the teams prior to kick off and I’ll bet both are extremely excited.
Jacob is aged 9 years, attends Caldershaw Primary School with favourite player being Andy Cannon.
Lucas is aged 5 years, also attends Caldershaw Primary School with his favourite player being Ian Henderson.
The highlight of their season was the Tottenham Hotspur match at the Crown Oil Arena and travelling down to London for the replay.
MASCOTS-SAM & LILLY DAVIES
We have two opposing mascots today so I hope they enjoy their time at the Crown Oil Arena.
Sam aged 7 years attends Kirn Primary School, Argyll & Bute in Scotland.
He is a keen footballer, plays for his local club DYFL plus St Andrews Boys Club in Inverclyde, which means he has to get a boat three times a week!!!
His favourite player is Kal Naismith and he wants to be a defender when he grows up.
Lily age 5 years also attends Kirn Primary.
She is a Highland dancer, has over ninety medals already and has only been competing a year.
Lily loves to play football with her absolute favourite being Christian Burgess.
BIRTHDAY PARTY-THOMAS BUNDY
Thomas is celebrating his 7th birthday with a party for him and his friends at the match.
He attends Smithybridge Primary school.
His ideal weekend will be training followed by going to the Rochdale game then on Sunday watching Match of the Day before playing a match with his team.
EFL DAY OF ACTION
We had a fabulous full day of activities to celebrate the second year of this worthy event on the go from 2.00 – 9.30pm with a training session with the Rochdale Get Set To Go group followed by a Kicks match against Fleetwood Town with all players coming the Dale match in the evening for the match against Fleetwood plus our Ability Counts Open Age squad.
For the record, we beat Fleetwood Town Kicks team 10-9, unfortunately later in the week a match against Bolton Wanderers resulted in a loss for us

HALF TIME CHALLENGE MATCH
Milnrow Tigers and Springfield played out a very exciting match at half time during the home match against Shrewsbury Town and thoroughly enjoyed their time at the Crown Oil Arena
Today, we have Shawclough and Rochdale Tigers Under 7’s so please give them you support as usual.
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
Recently all Rochdale AFC Ladies squads from under 9’s – Open Age totalling just under 100 trained at Soccer Factory to celebrate International Women’s Day.
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. International Women’s Day (IWD) has occurred for well over a century, with the first March 8 IWD gathering supported by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland.
Prior to this the Socialist Party of America, United Kingdom’s Suffragists and Suffragettes, and further groups campaigned for women equality.
International Women’s Day belongs to all groups collectively everywhere
