The supporters trust held its annual Exiles Day on Saturday, inviting Trust Members from further afield the opportunity to be hosted by the Trust on a match day.
Saturday saw 35 exiles brace the Friday rain to travel to Rochdale for what turned out to be a glorious day, both off and in the pitch! Many regular faces where on show, it seems the exiles day is a real favourite with these far flung fans.
Our club did us proud with executive box treatment and a buffet provided by the cracking quirky catering folks who look after the match day dining.
It was a pleasure to host a couple from Scotland who had never been to Rochdale before, that’s Rochdale not Rochdale FC! They started supporting the club in the good old 70’s when wins and success where hard to come by. Feeling somewhat sorry for the Dale they followed our exploits for over 30 years and on Saturday made the game and had a great experience meeting many of the players they had only seen in the telly!!
Jack the Kitman played his part getting a signed shirt for the raffle, the Trusts only funds from the event. Chrissie from Bristol was the lucky winner and our thanks to the Exiles for digging deep and making £125 for the Trust from the draw. Here she is surrounded by players and a rather unruly looking gentleman whose playing days are over!!
Our thanks once again to Frances and everyone at the club for making this special day happen, here’s looking forward to next year.
