The club were very keen on some of the initiatives with attracting young supporters that came from last week’s Consultation meeting. One such idea will be launched at the forthcoming home game with Walsall where the club are running a massive promotion with Junior Teams. Everyone who is given a ticket for this game will be asked to put the name of their Team on the back of their ticket, as well as an email address. The Junior Team who has the most members attending on the night will have one of their members drawn at random and they will receive a signed shirt from the club. The Trust will then conduct a survey of those who attended on the night to ask about their experience on the night and future match attendance.
There will be a meeting between the club and the FITC to discuss some of the further ideas about working with schools and what can be done to help get the schools to push the tickets more with their students in a way that is mutually beneficial.
In addition to this, the club said that they are really pushing the idea of a family section again in the Pearl Street Stand. They envisage that the block closest to the main stand will be designated as such, and it will be labelled as such outside the ground. This has already been launched with more details availablehere
The club are very keen to make visiting Spotland as accessible as possible for people. The ground maps outside of Spotland are one aspect of that and they are looking into the idea of employing someone specifically to help out first time visitors to Spotland.
The idea of a Fanzone, where fans are encouraged to bring flags to Spotland, went down well, and this was something that would be looked at in the first few weeks of the season to find a suitable part of the ground where the flags could be displayed. There was also the possibility of tying this in with the Junior Teams by encouraging them to design flags for their visit to Spotland.
The club committed themselves to ensure that their online coverage maintained their high standards when staff are absent through holidays, and there was a commitment to ensure that the new Fixture Board that faces the traffic on Sandy Lane is kept up to date at all times.
The club have confirmed that online ticketing will commence this season, and it will link in as well with a whole new online shop. Because of the importance of getting it right, it won’t be rushed and its highly likely that it may be launched in two stages with ticketing first of all, before the online shop comes later.
The Trust and Club would like to thank all supporters who contributed to the Consultation Process and look forward to something similar in the not too distant future.
