The Trust held a sponsored walk to Accrington, the aim of the walk was to raise funds for this year’s chosen charity – Rochdale Football In the Community. The plan is to raise over £1,000 towards a van that they can use when they visit schools, organisations and community groups throughout the town.
Starting point was the Ratcliffe suite, many thanks for the butties and brews and opening up early for us to meet up, then at 8.00am it was off along Sandy Lane to Endenfield Road and up to Haslingden.
Making good time we arrived at The Woolpack early, a big thanks to the staff for providing more butties and refreshments, then it was onto the final leg onto Blakcburn Road and into Accrington.
We arrived at the Crown shortly after 1pm for further refreshments.
After completing the walk Trust Chairman Dave Gartside said: “We have all made it in one piece and now we are just getting rehydrated in The Crown.
“There was a slight drizzle but conditions were a lot better than last time so it’s been great.”
Well done to all that took part, we’ll provide an update on the amount raised soon.
