Rochdale Football Club and the Dale Trust are delighted to announce that the annual Player of the Season Awards Evening will be held in the Ratcliffe Suite at Spotland Stadium on Saturday 27th April starting at 7pm.
It has been decided to limit the ticket price to just £1 to allow as many supporters as possible to attend this event. Every penny of the ticket cost will go towards Cystic Fibrosis. This particular charity is particularly important to the football club, with the son of Dale Youth team boss Chris Beech being affected. A bucket collection at the Dale v Cheltenham game raised closed to £500, and this was aided further by a £100 donation from the Dale Trust.
Tickets are limited for this event, with just over 300 available to supporters. These will go on a first come, first served basis from the Trust desk on matchdays. On non matchdays, they will be available from the ticket office and club shop at Spotland during normal office hours. Please keep an eye on the websites for ticket availability as once they are all gone, that’s it.
This year, we are encouraging as many families as possible to attend this event as all elements of Team Rochdale come together. Young supporters will be given a Dale photo, and the Dale squad will be happy to sign those photos and Dale shirts.
This year, supporters attending the event will be voting on the night for the Goal of the Season. Throughout April, supporters will have the chance to vote for their favourite goal of each month from this season, with the winning goal making it through to the final shortlist. These goals will be shown on the screens on the night, with everyone in attendance given a voting slip.
The following awards will be given away on the evening:
- Brent Wilkinson Memorial Trophy for the Club Player of the Year
- Landbridge Shipping Shield for the Players’ Player of the Year
- Supporters’ Player of the Year
- Frank Bishop Goal of the Season
- Dale Dragons Player of the Season
- SMAC Player of the Season
- Wilson Trophy for Most Improved Player of the Season
- Maureen Peacock Youth Player Award
There will be a raffle on the night of various Dale related items with all profits going as well to Cystic Fibrosis. Further information can be found about cystic fibrosis by clicking here.
