The Dale Trust have made a donation of £100 to the wife of Dale Youth Team boss Chris Beech who is running the London Marathon in aid of Cystic Fibrosis in April, and is trying to raise over £2000 towards the cause. The Trust were happy to do their bit in support.
Gillian is running the race in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a charity which is very close to her and Chris’ heart. Their son Brandon suffers from Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and his everyday life is a constant battle. He has physio twice a day to remove the mucus which builds up in his lungs as well as using a nebulizer machine twice a day which delivers anti-biotics into his lungs. Brandon also takes around 40 different tablets each day! Brandon looks healthy on the outside, but with Cystic Fibrosis all the damage is on the inside. CF is one of the UK’s most common life threatening inherited diseases and there are currently 9,000 people in the UK living with the disease.
A collection was made at the recent home game against Cheltenham and that raised nearly £500 for the charity. If you wish to donate to this very worthwhile cause, you can do so by clicking here
